During the successive earthquakes and typhoons that struck the Visayas region, GSMI initiated volunteer campaigns to quickly and effectively respond to the needs of our disaster-stricken kabarangay.
Members of the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings basketball team joined our employees in repacking relief goods for the victims of the Bohol earthquake and Super-typhoon Yolanda.
True to the spirit of bayanihan, the Gin Kings not only devoted their time, they also contributed their own resources to help. Relief operations through GSMI’s plants in the Visayas and Mindanao areas, in coordination with the San Miguel Foundation, benefitted families from the municipalities of San Francisco, Poro, Tudela and Pilar in Camotes Island and Daan Bantayan and Mendellin in Northern Cebu. Around 3,500 relief packs were distributed to the Yolanda affected areas.
